We are our energies

The soul and heart of a man are where his living pours out from, it is where our energies reside. Jesus in the bible said that it’s not what goes into a man that defiles him but what comes out of him. The psalmist too wrote warning us to guard our heart with all diligence for out of it cometh the issues of life. The influence of our energies is what James Allen referred to when he said that as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

Our heart, mind, and soul share the same space and if not anything they are internal, no one else can see what’s going in inside, just you and your creator. A few people may sense it but it’s just a glimpse. I say this to point to the fact that the energies we express are in fact our own self-drivers, the life we live is a product of what goes on inside of us and how we express them.

This is why it is so important to guard our heart, guard our energies, make sure we are not imbibing the wrong things, and are not motivated by the wrong emotions because this fuel the decisions we make and the actions we take, sometimes almost unconsciously

In addition to these observations about a man by Jesus the psalmist and James, Id love to add that it is not what happens to a man that makes him but how he responds to what happens to him based on who he knows himself to be inside and how much he is able to express that knowledge.

I’m usually very conscious of my appearance and sometimes it restricts me from expressing confidence. One of those days when I was walking on campus I realized that I was looking at everyone and they unlike me were not so aware of how fabulous or non-fabulous they looked at that moment yet some walked around confidently irrespective of their looks that realization got me to recognize the significance of internal strength. You and I have met someone who didn’t look so great but who carried an aura of confidence that was just so attractive that aura is what I mean by energies.

Think of energies as levels of character that we exist on, that we are able to express. So some days when I walk I decide I want to be confident and from what I know about confidence, I try to express that knowledge, and guess what? It works. No one knows what’s going on in my head but I do, I know I decided to express certain energy or character and I put my mind into that condition, and eventually, my body followed suit.

Sometimes our energies choose us and come naturally to us and other times we choose them. Whatever energy we see and desire, we want to imbibe. So if I desire confidence and I want to exude it, I crave and imbibe it and eventually express it. The energies we crave have a way of seeping to and through us. And where we exhibit a character we don’t desire, we seek to discard them, imbibe what we want and reinvent ourselves.

This is what makes us different from other humans, our reservoir of knowledge and the character we want to exhibit and eventually our expression of that knowledge and responses to situations. So who are you? What energies do you want to exhibit?
